GPS tracking

GPS tracking tied to your rentals, for Moroccan agencies

Where the car is, for how long, and how fast it is going. Elaicar's GPS tracking is tied to your reservations: you are not looking at dots on a map, you are looking at your live rentals.

Every vehicle's position, live

A map shows the last known position of the whole fleet, vehicle by vehicle. You filter by branch or by state to keep only what matters — for example, only the cars currently out on rental. When a customer is unreachable and the return is overdue, this is the first screen to open.

Trip history, not just this instant

For a given vehicle and period, Elaicar reconstructs the route travelled and calculates the real distance. You can see where the car went during the rental, which settles most disagreements about billed mileage or leaving an agreed area.

Stops and speed

The system detects stops — a vehicle stationary for several minutes — and reconstructs the speed profile of the trip. Useful for understanding a late return, documenting excessive driving, or verifying a chauffeur job.

Real distance against declared mileage

GPS-calculated distance can be compared with the odometer recorded at handover and return. Any gap becomes visible — which makes this as much an internal control as a billing tool.

A module you switch on when you need it

GPS is an option in Elaicar, not a prerequisite. You can start with reservations and fleet management, then add tracking the day you fit your vehicles with trackers.

Frequently asked questions

Do the cars need a device fitted?

Yes, tracking requires a GPS tracker in the vehicle. Elaicar receives its positions and ties them to the vehicle and the rental in progress.

Is tracking a rental vehicle legal?

Tracking a rented vehicle must be disclosed to the renter, normally through a clause in the rental agreement, and must serve a legitimate purpose such as vehicle security. Check the wording with your own legal adviser; Elaicar lets you state the device in your contract templates.

How long is history kept?

Positions are retained so trips can be reconstructed after the rental ends, long enough to deal with a mileage dispute or a claim.
